Why Ledger & Lane

After two decades in property management, Melanie Poole, Director of Ledger & Lane, recognised that the role property managers play in protecting and supporting the performance of investment properties is often misunderstood and, as a result, undervalued.

Property management is often seen as little more than collecting rent and organising repairs and treated as a sidekick to the sales industry, despite being responsible for many of the decisions, conversations and processes that influence an investment's long-term performance.

Ledger & Lane was created to challenge the traditional real estate model and the way property management is often perceived within it. We believed property management deserved a dedicated business model. By focusing exclusively on property management, we could invest more heavily in the systems, service standards and expertise that support better outcomes for landlords and tenants.

This approach also shaped the way we operate. Rather than limiting our service to specific postcodes, we chose a Sydney-wide model that allows investors to consolidate multiple properties under one trusted partner and receive the same standard of management across their entire portfolio.

Today, Ledger & Lane supports landlords and investors across Sydney with a more considered approach to property management, combining expertise, structured systems and attention to detail to help protect the performance of every investment.
